Aviary Screencast

Use of Aviary Photo Editing App to Demonstrate Learning in Kindergarten

For the still media tool I chose to use the Aviary app as opposed to the website.  As iPads are a key tool in our classroom, I find that I gravitate more towards apps when working with the children.  I also find that apps are more child friendly in that it keeps them safely in one spot and allows less navigation error.  This project was one of my favorite in that I was able to utilize and explore use of 3 different tools:

Aviary Photo Editing App

Seesaw Digital Learning Portfolios

Each of these tools were free, user-friendly, visually easy to manipulate, and easily accessible.  I would recommend any of them for use in the classroom by both teachers and children.
Watch the screencast below to learn more about our process.

Please view this screencast to learn about how we used photo editing to demonstrate learning.

Here you will find samples of finished pieces created by children in the classroom.
